Most folks aren't sure whether they need a Website or a Blog. They often prefer one or the other because someone told them that one software is easier, or more common or more popular than the other. These are not good reasons to make the choice, because website software is good at making websites and blog software is good at making blogs.
A Website is filled with static pages, images, and maybe even some eCommerce, and can grow to an unlimited size in any direction over time.
A Blog on the other hand, might have a few static pages, but it is primarily for a site that you want to keep adding to on a regular basis. It gathers your articles and stores them on an on-going basis. It will outgrow itself and eventually become more and more difficult to maintain over time.
Be Realistic
Many people really WANT to have a continuously added-to blog, but after the first couple of articles, they drop off.
Search engines & general SEO handle Web sites & Blog sites differently. And if your Blog site gets neglected by you, the search engines too will neglect it too.
It doesn't matter to me which kind of site you would like, as I am certified to make ALL kinds of sites, but I would like to see your site succeed as a solid marketing tool for your business.
