JoomaLogoDepending on your ability and willingness to want to maintain your own website, we have 2 options for you:

  • Learn to maintain your Joomla website yourself ($45/hour) or
  • We'll maintain your Joomla content for you ($65/hr Content maintenance) or
  • We'll take care of the Joomla technical stuff ($85/hr Technical site maintenance)
  • Retainer (price is individually negotiated)
As you can see, learning to maintain it yourself is less expensive, in both the short term as well as the long term. But hey, if that's just not your thing, we're here for you.

Hourly Fees vs. Retainers

If we maintain it for you, we will talk over how much maintenance you might need in the future and you can base your budget on that. You can choose from our hourly fee of $65-$85 per hour or putting us on a retainer. A retainer fee is a form of pre-payment which is usually based on our hourly rate of $65-$85/hour. This advanced fee ensures that we will provide certain website services on behalf of you and your website. Think of it as a down payment for our services. The funds, which are non-refundable, are placed into an account that will be tapped whenever you need us to do some work on your site for you. If the fees go above the retainer amount, the you will be charged for that extra amount. The retainer fee is just an initial estimate and it prohibits from representing a direct competitor in your marketplace.

A retainer fee is also used to pay for services when you want to have us 'on call' to take care of your legal problems upon request or if you need website help or support on a regular basis. This fee is paid on a monthly schedule and will be automatically charged to your credit card.

Because of the unpredictable but often immediate services required for website maintenance, many companies are moving to a retainer model in order to ensure the timely updating of their website, while saving money by not having to hire full-time personnel.

What's the difference between Maintenance and Updates/Changes?

monkeyNone. All of these fall under the category of maintenance. The difference in our hourly charge is that our cost for technical expertise is more expensive than for content maintenance. But bear in mind that 'content maintenance' does not include the editing of your materials. In other words, if you send us misspellings, you'll get misspellings in your site. So please edit your content before submitting it for inclusion into your website. This is yet another place where you can keep the overall cost of your website to a minimum.

Joomla is huge and a person can get pretty deep into it. Depending upon your ability to dive deep or just snorkel, we can accommodate you all the way through!
